Preston Lopez Reflects On This Past Year

The year 2013 started with a bang.I started building my own film studio.Completed writing another short script and sold a few more paintings.By March I started filming my short film but the production team had other plans and soon it was postponed.  "the problem is that everybody wants to be a star, but nobody wants to share the universe."  In May I had some of my paintings featured in an art galleria in New York City. In July I was photographed in "blackface" for a campaigned on racism, ignorance and intolerance.I recorded the song also filmed the super sexy Madonna homage "Dirty Thoughts" music video. "Every time you do something out of the norm or to expose a problem is somehow considered controversial. "In September I auditioned and got a small role in "El Capo 3" a MundoFox tv show.In October I rewrote an old screenplay shot and directed a short film but trouble on the set once again made me rethink how to go about some things in the future. "no matter how much you try, you can't change a background to a principal." In a year of up and downs I learn a few things but to sum it up is that you have to take control of your own ship.Be aware of how high the tides are and who you let in to sail with you.Because bafoons and egos can sometimes derail your vision and destiny.Cuz' when and if it sinks all your treasures and dreams will be buried on the sea level floor forever. - Preston Lopez
